Catherine Anderson

Catherine Uhrich Anderson passed away on September 13, 2026 in the Lebanon Valley Home after a debilitating battle with dementia. She was 84. Born in Harrisburg on April 24, 1942, Cathie was the daughter of John Allen Uhrich, Jr. and Faye Elizabeth (née Shields) Uhrich. Her husband, Terrence M. Anderson, predeceased her in 2022.

A 1960 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, Cathie served the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity as a sister for eight years, teaching and doing social work. She left before taking final vows. She later completed a BA in Education at Lebanon Valley College and an MS in Special Ed at Millersville University.

Cathie taught Social Studies and other subjects at St. Mary’s Parochial School, Our Lady of the Valley, and Lebanon Catholic School for over forty years, retiring in 2012. She is remembered especially for writing multiple Christmas pageant plays. Cathie was also a girl scout leader and worked with the Lebanon County Historical Society on school programs.

With her husband, Terry, Cathie was a dedicated member of the former St. Gregory the Great Parish and later St. Cecilia’s, where she served as cantor and choir member, taught CCD, and volunteered at the annual festival.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John (Jack) Uhrich III, husband of Arlean Tessler, and Kevin Uhrich. She is survived by siblings Cecilia Schmidt, wife of Paul, Martha Shaak, widow of Dennis, Mary Kern, widow of Terry, Thomas Uhrich, husband of Evonne, James Uhrich, husband of Susan, daughter Maureen Bentz, wife of Adam, granddaughter Eleanor Ruth Bentz, and many nieces, nephews, and their children.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at St. Cecilia's Church, 120 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. A visitation will be held prior to mass from 10-11 at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cathie’s name may be made to Our Lady of the Cross School, 1691 Grace Ave., Lebanon, PA 17046, or to a charity of your choice.
