William E. Nagel, 76, of Newmanstown, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at his residence. He was the husband of Janet L. (Bowers) Nagel.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 18, 1946, William was a son of the late Roy and Eleanor (Whitehead) Nagel. He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Myerstown gun club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, William is survived by two children, William Nagel, Jr., husband of Tracy, and Christine Smith, former wife of Michael; four step-children: Christine Schoell, wife of the late Bill Schoell, Michelle Riben, wife of Daniel, Roberta Prygon, companion of Courtney Sebastian, and Mary Beth Burt, wife of Daniel; five grandchildren: Evan Nagel, Carter Nagel, Jessica Cratsley, wife of Zachary, Amanda Smith, and Zachary Pond; seven step-grandchildren: Shelby Shuster, wife of Ryan, Philip Smythe, Jessica Mackenzie, wife of Stephen, Alyson Martin, wife of Riley, Griffin Burt, Grady Burt, and Emily Burt; six great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Susan Martin-Nagel; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny and Roy Nagel.
