Veronica D. Gordon, age 76, of Lebanon passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born April 30, 1948 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to the late Martin Van Buren and Bertha Mary Mase Habecker. She was raised in Lebanon where she attended Lebanon High School.
Veronica started her first job at Milsan Mills Factory. Then, in 1972 she began her career at Hershey Chocolate Factory. She worked in several departments within the factory including Wrapping, Syrup, Kisses, and Miniatures departments. She retired in 2007 after 35 years of service.
Her hobbies included joining several local bowling leagues in 1970 until 2024. She enjoyed her teammates while traveling and competing in tournaments. Other hobbies she enjoyed were spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, puzzles ,and listening to Oldies 50's music as well as country music. Veronica dedicated her Tuesdays to selling candies at Smith's candy stand in Root's Country Market in Manheim.
On September 19, 1980, she married Chester Lewis Gordon. They recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Veronica and Chester were members of the Lebanon Country Cruisers Car Club. Together, they traveled to local car shows displaying their own personal classics.
Veronica is survived by her husband, Chester L. Gordon of Colebrook, PA. Daughters, Romnie S. wife of Jacob Long of Bechtelsville, PA., Crystal L. wife of Kerry E. Baker of Kasterlee, Belgium. Grandchildren, Ketara L. Baker of San Antonio, TX., Anthony R. Gordon of Cincinnati, OH., Kaden R. Baker of Kasterlee, Belgium., Amirah V. Baker of Kasterlee, Belgium., Chet. V. Baker of Kasterlee, Belgium. Great Grandchildren, Illyn E. Stromboe of San Antonio, TX. Sisters, Claudia wife of Robert Batz of Lebanon, PA., Sheila Gearhart of Hagerstown, MD., Sharon Rauch of Hellerstown, PA., Judy Hain of Lebanon, PA.
