Susan
Matusiak
Mar 19, 1960 — Jul 12, 2026
Susan Matusiak, 66, of Cleona, Pennsylvania, was born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 19th, 1960, to George Schreiner and Jennie Baccellieri. Shortly following her birth, she and her late sister, Elaine, were fostered by Anthony and Mary Frisina. Her childhood was spent on her parents' small upstate New York property, enjoying full-bodied Italian dinners and conversations, and time spent in her parents' small grocery store in the city.
Susan graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She enjoyed the hospitality life, spending most of her career as a server for the Hershey Country Club. She showed her love most through her wonderful cooking and baking that she shared during the many family celebrations they held at their home. In 1982, while attending a Halloween party, she met her husband, Bill. They were married on October 29th, 1983, and welcomed their first child, Erin, in October of the next year. Bill, Sue, Erin, and Katie, their second daughter, spent a few years on Long Island before moving to Cleona. Susan gave birth to six wonderful children whom she loved dearly and truly. Her best attributes were her empathy, unconditional love, and welcoming spirit. A natural-born caretaker, she loved caring for animals, especially their dog, Molly, and you could often find her tending to the needs of the elderly. Those who met Susan quickly grew to love her playful sense of humor. She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church of Lebanon, enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren, and watching movies. Her passion for gardening was evident in the beautiful flower pots she and her husband arranged every summer. Susan was a gifted artist, loved all things Halloween, collecting antiques, and attending auctions.
In addition to her faithful husband of 42 years, William, she is survived by her children, Erin Serrano, husband Jose Serrano, Katherine Senft, husband Tyler Senft, and Jillian, Allison, John, and Elizabeth Matusiak. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 12:00pm at St. Mary's Church, 2 N 8th St, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, 17046. Viewing hours will be held prior to Mass from 10-12pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Holy Cross Cemetery.
