Ruth E. Yingst, age 101, of Reading, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 at Mifflin HealthCare Center in Shillington. She was the wife of the late Eugene R. Yingst.

Born in Lebanon, PA on November 11, 1921, Ruth was a daughter of the late James and Mazie (Bowman) Erdman. She was the secretary for many years at St. Mark's United Church of Christ. Ruth was an avid scrabble player and was always ready to take on the challenge of a new player. She enjoyed reading mystery books and watching British dramas on PBS.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Joan Y. Breidenstine, wife of Paul (Berks County). Also surviving are three grandchildren: Adrienne Breidenstine, wife of Greg Care ( MD), Kyle Breidenstine, husband of Jessica (MA) and Christopher Breidenstine, husband of Tara (Berks Co) and three great grandchildren: Lillian and Michael Breidenstine and Finlay Care. Ruth was predeceased by her daughter Virginia "Ginny" Yingst.
