Robert R. Schade, 74, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. Born in Rockville Centre, NY on January 5, 1948, Bob was the son of the late Robert R. and Loretta K. (McGovern) Schade. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosann (Foster) Schade, as well as his three daughters: Danielle N. Schade (wife of Hassan El Amrani), Kimberly A. Schade, and Allison S. Hudson (wife of Christopher). He doted on his five grandchildren: Indigo, Sheridan, Madeline, Rayan, and Nacer.

In his professional life, Bob's many contributions as a gastroenterologist/hepatologist included his work among the pioneers of liver transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh. His long career was marked by excellent clinical care, numerous professional publications and presentations, and scores of trainees whose careers he helped launch. Bob enjoyed swimming, fishing, sailing, and preparing meals for his family. He had a lifelong love of travel and learning, and he was an avid reader who devoured topics ranging from history to French poetry. He was a great proponent of eduction and intellectual curiosity for his family and colleagues.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
