Robert J. Kern, 96, of Myerstown, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at Stone Ridge Poplar Run. He was the husband of the late Dolores (Newman) Kern, the late Helen (Seltzer) Kern, and the late Janice (Tobias) Kern.

Born in Jonestown, PA on September 27, 1929, Robert was a son of the late Sedgwick O. Kern and Annie R. (Stover) Kern.

Robert was a graduate of Annville High School. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1947-1949 and retired as a dispatcher from Met Ed.

Robert is survived by a step-daughter, Melanie Newman; brothers, Donald (Romaine) Kern and Richard Kern and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Myrl Cramer and Thelma Kalwaytis, and a brother, Sedgwick Kern.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 2, 2026 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
