Obituary

Paula M. Spicer, 78, of Mount Gretna, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at The Gardens at Stevens in Lancaster. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Melvin P. Spicer, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage..

Born in Paterson, New Jersey on January 9, 1944, Paula was the daughter of the late Harry and Marie (Cassetta) Harris.

Paula was a member of the Mt. Gretna United Methodist Church. To say that she was a devoted mother would be an understatement. Paulas's life centered around caring for her children. Having a son with special needs comes with challenges, but Paula seemed to have the innate ability to love and nurture Melvin day after day with an extraordinary level of patience and tenderness. Her presence at Supportive Concepts, where Melvin resided, will be missed and her generous spirit and unwavering support will never be forgotten by the staff.

Paula is survived by two sons - Michael A. Spicer, husband of Neely, and Melvin P. Spicer; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lee and two sisters, Alberta and Nancy.

At Paula's request, her funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Supportive Concepts, 724 East Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA 17042. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with arrangements. Please share your memories with the family at our online guest book at thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
