Patricia Mae Shay, 99, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Lebanon Valley Home in Annville, PA.  She was the wife of the late Frederick G. Shay.  Born in Lebanon on August 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William J. Barry and Lucy Tice Barry.

She was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, Class of 1942, and the Lebanon Business College.  She was employed in the office of Robert F. Early, Sr. MD for 38 years and the Good Samaritan Hospital for 6 years.  She was a former member of the Lebanon County Club, where she enjoyed playing golf, having been a champion of the Women's Nine Hole Group for two years.  She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

During World War II, she worked at Indiantown Gap supporting the troops, while her husband-to-be was a member of the Army Air Corps piloting bombing missions over Europe and the Pacific.

Surviving are a son, Joseph F. Shay of Mount Gretna and a daughter, Patricia Anne, wife of Attorney Thomas S. Long of Lebanon.  She is also survived by four grandchildren; Victoria Anne, wife of Skye Allsop of Truckee, CA; Mary Katherine, wife of Joel Light of Colleyville, TX; Thomas Shay Long and wife Lauren of Lebanon, PA; and Attorney Frederick Sommers Long and wife Jaclyn of Lebanon, PA.  Surviving also are great-grandchildren James, Oliver and Isaac Allsop of Truckee, CA; Delia and Tobias Light of Colleyville, TX; Charlotte, Ruby and Theodore Long of Lebanon, PA and Lenora Long of Lebanon, PA.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Preceding her in death was a sister, Lucille E. Sullivan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at St. Mary's Church, 2 N 8th St, Lebanon, PA.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lebanon. A viewing will be held prior to Mass from 10-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Lady of the Cross School, 1691 Grace Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17046.  Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
