Obituary

Patricia Rothermel, 87, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Barry E Rothermel who she was married to for 67 years.

Born in Lebanon, PA on October 9, 1937, Patricia was the daughter of the late Airey S. Achey and Genevieve Achey (Stonebraker).

Pat enjoyed traveling, going to the mountains, parties, and playing cards with her life long friends. She loved flowers, music, camping, ice cream, word search puzzles, watching the birds, taking care of her flower and herb garden, and looking at her big beautiful magnolia tree in full bloom. She loved being with family for a good meal on the holidays, picnics in the summer, and frequent get-togethers throughout the year.

Her family will always remember her for providing a warm comforting and loving home, her laughter, great sense of humor, and comical jargon. Her family knew if her boo boo boo wan-nas (term of endearment) ever needed a glass of tupperdo (milk) or were just geepy gappy gooper (sleepy) and needed a napper snapper do (nap) she had you covered.

For these reasons and many more, we will miss her dearly. However, Pat raised her children to know the Lord and shared her faith and belief in Jesus Christ, and accepted his free gift of salvation. For this reason, we know that we will see her again in paradise as God promised.

Patricia is survived by four children – Sharon Abbot (the late Paul Abbot), Beth Hamdan, Keith Rothermel (partner of Judy Arnold), Cathy Weaver (married to Brian Weaver), her Sister Carol Gardner, and brothers Steve Achey and Dave Achey seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Rothermel, her brother Randall Achey, her grandchildren Kevin Goshert and Karlyn DeAngelo.
