Patricia Geraldine Kirk Flynn, 82, passed peacefully on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at a care facility in Dallas, PA. She was born September 9, 1940 in Laceyville, PA to Stanely J. Kirk Jr. and Anna M. Ciprich Kirk.

Patricia was preceded in death by Thomas E. Flynn, her devoted husband of 47 years, brother Bernard Kirk, sisters Alberta Mello, Virginia Bowman, and Barbara Stawinsky, and their spouses, brother-in-law Jeremiah Patrick Flynn, and sister-in-law, Sr. Aileen Mary Flynn, R.S.M.

Pat was the caring aunt of surviving nieces Beth Bowman Polovitch, Nancy Mello Schmidt, Bernadette (Mello) Edwards, Jacqueline Stawinsky-Chorba, Mary Jane Flynn Gloth, Aileen Mary Flynn Macdonald, and nephews Chris Mello, Joseph Patrick Flynn, and Theodore J. Stawinsky and their families.

Pat experienced a calling to religious life after graduating from Wyalusing Joint High School, obtained her college degree at Misericordia College in 1962, and became known as Sister Angeline Marie Kirk, R.S.M. (Angie). She taught elementary school in the Scranton and Harrisburg dioceses from 1962 to 1968, and secondary education at Bishop McDevitt High School from 1968 to 1973. She earned her Master of Education at Shippensburg State College in 1973.

In 1973 Pat followed her heart to a second calling, and married Thomas E. Flynn. Together they experienced 47 years of a devoted and loving marriage, moving to Lebanon, PA in 2004. Pat was a faithful Catholic who lived a life of prayer and service. She always had a Rosary in her in pocket, and holy water strategically placed throughout her home. She was much beloved as a teacher and then later as a coworker during her years at General Motors in Baltimore, MD, where she worked as an executive secretary for many years.

Pat brought comforting prayers and the Blessed Sacrament to many homebound parishioners during her service as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. She was an inspiring prayer warrior and auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Pat volunteered in several other aspects of parish life, where she made many lasting friends.

After her dear husband's passing in 2020, life came full circle for Pat, and she was lovingly cared for at the Mercy Center on the grounds of her alma mater, Misericordia University, in Dallas, PA. There she rekindled friendships from her earlier years in religious life.

Pat had a keen sense of humor, quick wit, and was an avid Ravens and Phillies fan. She was much loved by family and friends who adored the twinkle in her eye and the kindness of her smile.
