Patricia E. Barry, 90, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023, at The Lebanon Valley Home in Annville. She was the wife of the late Donald P. Barry.
Born in Lebanon, PA on November 19, 1932, Pat was the youngest daughter of the late John and Mary (Allwein) Embich. She is survived by four children: Mary Lou Pray, wife of David, Robert Barry, Susan Hess, wife of Larry, and Beth Shenenberger. She was affectionately known as "G-ma" to her five grandchildren: Tricia, Michelle, Emily, Kevin, and Darren, and her two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Sophie. Pat was the last of her immediate Embich family and was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Fleischer and Nancy Walls, and two brothers, Richard Embich and Dr. John Embich. She is survived by three nephews and three nieces.
Pat was a life-long member of St. Mary's Church, where she volunteered and also served as a lector. She graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School in 1950. She was employed by Lebanon VA Medical Center for 20 years, retiring as the Executive Secretary to the Chief of Staff. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. She loved to play cards and games with her family. She played the piano, and she looked forward to meeting her LCHS classmates for lunch. She was a devoted Philadelphia Phillies fan.
Most of all, Pat enjoyed being with her family. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a family party.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, January 13th, at St. Mary's Church, 2 N 8th St, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior to Mass from 10-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's name may be made to St. Mary's Church at the above address.
