Michael Ely Peters, 83, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Judith (Johnson) Peters. He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth (Ely) Peters, and his stepmother Phyllis (Ward) Peters, second wife of Melvin Peters.

Born in Manns Choice, PA on May 21st 1940, Michael was a son of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Ely) Peters. He served in the United States Air Force. His hobbies included antique cars, reading, and harvesting tobacco.  He was a salesman for most of his career, and most recently worked at Quality Roofing, and Aluminum Building Products until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his step-son, James E. Jackson, Jr., husband of Jessica (Drennen) Jackson; and step-daughter, Cheryl A. Ressler, wife of the late Kenneth Ressler; brother Timothy Peters, husband of Lynn(Wertz) Peters; Dennis G Peters Sr, husband of Patty (Fetter) Peters; and sister Judith ( Peters) MacDougall, wife of Malcom MacDougall. Michael is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
