Mary Lois Smith, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Lebanon Pa, with her beloved husband, Earl E. Smith, by her side. Born December 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George W. Haag and Mary Rose (Novosel) Haag.

Mary Lois was a graduate of Hershey High School and retired from the Bon-Ton. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Colebrook.

Mary Lois and Earl shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Their love story began at the Mount Gretna roller rink, where Mary Lois told Earl she liked his “fancy pants.” What began with a playful comment grew into a lifelong love filled with love, laughter, family, and treasured memories.

In addition to her husband, Earl, she is survived by her daughters, Kathy Schildt, wife of Richard Schildt Jr., Vicki Shifflet, wife of Darrin Shifflet, and Amy Scott, wife of Jason Scott. She was a proud Grammy to her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Shifflet, Jordyn Gristick, wife of Zach Gristick, Jaden Scott, Cameron Scott and great granddaughter, Collins Gristick. Mary Lois was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Haag and Bill Haag, and her sisters, Dolores Weidman and JoAnn Fake.

Family and friends were at the heart of Mary Lois’s life. She loved being surrounded by the people she loved, making memories, sharing laughter, and, of course, having a good time. She had a warm heart and a fun-loving spirit, and everyone who knew her loved her. Mary Lois leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories. Her family will forever cherish the joy she brought into their lives, from her playful sense of humor to the love she gave so freely to those around her. Mary Lois will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but she will never be forgotten.
