Kovach
May 28, 1941 — Jan 3, 2023
Mary Ann (Yingst) Kovach, 81, of Lebanon, PA passed away on January 3rd after a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease. She was the wife of William (Bill) Kovach, also of Lebanon.
Born in Lebanon on May 28, 1941, Mary Ann was a daughter of the late Paul (Pud) and Mildred (Fair) Yingst. She attended Lebanon Catholic High School and graduated in 1959.
In high school, Mary Ann was a member of the cheerleading squad and was described in her yearbook as a "Little Dynamo". As a young woman, Mary Ann attended and graduated cum laude from Maryland Medical Secretarial School. She held various administrative positions during her career, the most noteworthy being a part of the Lebanon-Lancaster IU #13 for over 24 years before retiring in 2003. Mary Ann, along with Bill, was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church.
Mary Ann was a devoted mother and wife to her beloved husband Bill to whom she was married for over 59 years. Known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren, she loved spending time with friends and family. She will always be remembered for her strong and unwavering support and dedication to her family, her willingness to help whenever possible, and always putting their interests ahead of her own.
Mary Ann's hobbies included traveling, playing golf, babysitting grandchildren and eating out. Friends and family will always remember her great sense of humor, in addition to her love of games. Many nights were spent with her enjoying cards, board games, bingo, slots and any type of game involving her grandchildren and friends (but not puzzles!).
In addition to her husband, Mary Ann is survived by three children, Jeff Kovach husband of Noelle, Dave Kovach husband of Shannon, and Karen Brown wife of Jason, and ten grandchildren and step grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings.
