Obituary

Mary Bonnie Day, 83, of Palmyra, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at home. She was the wife of the late James J. Day.

Born in Lebanon, PA on May 9, 1940, Mary was a daughter of the late Woodrow and Teresa (Vernon) Leone. She attended Lebanon Catholic High School and was a member of St. Mary's Church. She was retired from Hershey Pasta. She enjoyed traveling and some of her favorite destinations were Italy, Ireland, Alaska and Hawaii. She cherished the memory of a trip to Italy where she was able to see her grandparents' home in Fara San Martino and had an audience with the pope in Rome. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially watching the boys play football over the years. She also enjoyed attending school concerts and any event to celebrate achievement. She enjoyed cooking for her family.  Sunday dinner was treat for all friends and family who were fortunate enough for an invite. Other hobbies included reading and doing word search puzzles.

Mary is survived by three children, Maureen, James, and Danielle; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Louis Leone; one sister, Jeanine Brown; one sister-in-law, Rose Marie Day; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheri and sons, Joseph and Matthew.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
