Margaret "Peggy" (Young) McDonnell

Peggy McDonnell died at her home in South Lebanon on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

Born Margaret Louise Young to Raymond and Mildred (Hoffman) Young in Altoona, PA on June 8, 1933. She was a graduate of Altoona High School in 1951 and a telephone operator in Washington D.C. and Altoona prior to marrying Charles "Mac" McDonnell on June 17, 1955.

They have been blessed with two sons, David Michael and Russell Mark McDonnell. The family lived in Altoona, PA, Bayard, NM, Big Spring, TX, and Granada Hills, CA from where an earthquake resulted in father Mac transferring to duty at the Lebanon, PA Veterans Hospital.

Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian and her husband Bob Noel, and Betty; and three brothers, Russell, Gerald and his wife Zoe, and Charles and his wife Erdean.

A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:30 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Please share your memories with the family at our online guest book at thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
