Luz Celenia Ruiz Melendez, 80, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at home.

Born in San German, Puerto Rico on April 5, 1943, Luz was a daughter of the late Enrique Ruiz and Santia Melendez. She enjoyed watching TV, cooking, and loved her two dogs, Nena & Peluche.

Luz is survived by nine children: Luz Eneida Aponte, Jose Luis Valentin, Luis Manuel Soto, Livorio Soto, Jose David Soto, Sol Janette Soto, Anibal Soto, Braulio Vazquez, and Miguel Angel Vazquez; grandchildren: Marybell Aponte, Jose Luis Aponte, Miguel Angel Aponte, Luz Haydee Guzman, Luz Celenia Soto, Vanessa Valentin, Maryluz Valentin, Doris Valentin, Carmen Soto, Jessica Soto, Maria Santana, Luz Santana, Angel Santana, Angela Santana, Eddie Santana, Luis Angel Ramos, Rafael Jose Ramos, Luis Daniel Ramos, Liz Marie Ramos, Alexander Ramos, Sergio Ramos, Zuleyka Ramos, Anibal Junior Soto, Ebeliza Soto, Luz Marie Soto, Johnathan Soto, Brihana Vazquez, Jorge Luis Negron, Cristal Negron, and Yadiel Ramon; many great grandchildren; and three brothers: Daniel Ruiz, Abraham Ruiz, Elias Ruiz.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Luz Esther Soto; a granddaughter, Zoraida Soto, and three brothers, Ramona Ruiz, Luz Maria Ruiz, Nelson Ruiz.

A viewing will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, August 17th and from 9-10 AM on Friday, August 18th at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon, PA 17042. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 18th at Kimmerling's Cemetery in Lebanon.
