Obituary

Jonathan Richard Koser, 28, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024. Born in Hershey, PA on February 9, 1996, he was the son of Scott and Jennifer (Rodkey) Koser.

Jonathan's life was filled with a love of many things. His dream was to someday open an animal sanctuary but until then he wanted to rescue as many dogs as possible. All who knew Jonathan could tell how much he loved his best girl, Luci. They were always together and she would get so excited when he came home from work. She will miss him dearly. His favorite part of his former job at Amazon was being greeted by the many dogs on his deliveries and the occasional donkey, horse, or pot-bellied pig. He would send pics and videos of them to his mom and dad. He loved downhill biking and spent many weekends traveling with friends and family to different states for racing competitions or just for some downhill riding fun. He loved cars, most notably his bright yellow Corvette. We are not sure how much the neighbors liked it after he modified it to be obnoxiously loud. HE LOVED IT! And we always knew when he was coming home. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He and his dad had a lot of fun watching the games, yelling and cheering and yelling some more. The dogs would leave the room. He truly enjoyed when he went to several Phillies Spring training games as a teen and was able to meet Tom Gordon at a local restaurant. Jonathan loved to make people laugh, he was witty and smart. He could do anything he put his mind to. But most of all he loved his family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Jonathan is survived by paternal grandparents, Harrison and Amy Koser; maternal grandfather, Richard Rodkey, husband of Susan; two uncles, Todd Rodkey, husband of Vicky, and John Fackler, husband of Carla; four aunts, Kay Rhodes, wife of Frank, Penny Maze, wife of Robert, Tina Love, wife of Richard, and Sherry Vogel, wife of Robert; two maternal cousins, Nathan Rodkey and Kristin English; and multiple paternal cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Barbara Rodkey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jonathan's name can be made to K-9 Fund at the Lebanon City Police Department, 735 Cumberland Street, Lebanon, PA 17042 or ASPCA, 350 East Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134.
