John F. Onofrey, 88, of Myerstown, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Lebanon, PA on May 7, 1935, John was a son of the late Francis and Ester (Leitz) Onofrey. He earned his bachelor's degree from Lebanon Valley College and obtained his master's from Harvard. He was the vice president of publications at Continental Press in Elizabethtown for 25+ years. He was a member of St. Benedict the Abbot Church and Phi Delta Kappa. He enjoyed reading and eating good food.

John is survived by his sister, Margaret Klose; two nephews, Christopher Klose and Michael Onofrey; a niece, Kathryn Klingeman; great nephew, Trevor Onofrey; and great niece, Morgan Klingeman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2024 at St. Benedict's Church, 1300 Lehman Street, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to a charity of choice.
