John S.
Birli
Jul 22, 1939 — Aug 23, 2023
John Birli, 84, of Lebanon passed away peacefully in his home, Wednesday, August 23,2023.
Born in Lebanon, Pa. to the late Adam and Emma (Madara) Birli. He was the devoted husband to wife Jane Birli for 61 years.
John was a member of St. Cecilia's Church and strong in his Catholic Faith. He was an avid sports fan and traveler. John, Jane and sister Judy vacationed in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands for 30 + years, it was a treasured tradition. A long afternoon on a raft in a calm tropical bay was a favorite pastime. The couple also traveled extensively domestically. Some winters in Florida with friends and multiple other trips across the US were enjoyed throughout the years.
John had a competitive spirit hidden behind a calm, quiet demeanor. He loved to play and always played to win. John played fast pitch softball in a few church and rec leagues into his 50's and won league championships with Grace EC while sporting a batting average just shy of .400.
Preceded in final rest by beloved wife Jane, Surviving are Children – Stephen (Dana) Birli, Thomas (Tina) Birli, and Karen (Josh) Allen; Sisters Judith Birli, Mitzi Foulke, Janice Airey; Brothers Jim Birli, Kenny Birli; Grandchildren - James Birli, Adam Birli, Allison (Josh) Jones, Louis (Alyssa) Arnt , Madison Birli, Peyton Birli; Great Grand Children - Haven & Denni Birli, Cameron & Oliver Jones.
