Joan L. Gettle, 87, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at home. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Gettle, Jr.

Born in Lebanon, PA on June 16, 1937, Joan was a daughter of the late James and Violet (Brown) Weirich. She was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia. Joan worked in the cafeteria at Cedar Crest High School for over 20 years. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching General Hospital, the Hallmark Channel, Game Show Network, and sports, especially tennis.

Joan is survived by four children, Jeffrey A. Gettle, husband of Susan, Robin L. Fisher, wife of Richard, Bonita J. Shuey, wife of Douglas, and Beth Ann Saggers, wife of Nicholas; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig C. Gettle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 7, 2024 at St. Cecilia's Church, 120 E Lehman St, Lebanon PA 17046. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10-11 at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
