Joan Ruth Carpenter, 92, of Cornwall, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of the late Sterling  "Starky" Carpenter.  Born in Lebanon, PA, on February 15, 1933, Joan was the daughter of the late Joel and Susan (Bucher) Dundore. She graduated from Heidelberg High School in 1951. Joan was a hardworking and dedicated employee of Cornwall Manor for 28 years, until her retirement in 2000. She was an avid bowler and loved playing bingo, cards, and board games. She enjoyed attending all of her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, and most of all, cherished time with her family.  Joan was a lifelong member of Zion United Methodist Church of Iona.

Joan is survived by three children: Ruth Ann Schlegel, wife of John; Arthur Carpenter, husband of Nancy; and Susan Steckbeck, wife of Jeffrey; seven grandchildren: Alyson, John, Emily, Julia, Joseph, Kathleen, and Meygan; five great-grandchildren: Guinevere, Jocelyn, Redmond, Sage, and Lincoln; a brother, Ralph Dundore; a sister, Lucille Devitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Schlegel, and two brothers, Mark and Clarence Dundore.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Zion of Iona United Methodist Church, 1920 S 5th Ave, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will follow at Cornwall Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 1920 S 5th Ave. Lebanon, PA 17042.
