Jeffrey P. Ruppenthal, age 71, of Annville, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Born in Lebanon, PA, on June 13, 1952, he was the son of the late Frederick and Jessie (Fox) Ruppenthal.

He had a long career as a professional photographer, with his photos appearing in several local newspapers and on magazine covers. He received numerous National and Keystone Press Awards for his sports journalism photos.

Jeff had a passion for photography, golf, the beach, travel, and was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies. He cherished the memories of capturing moments at the Phillies Training Camp in Florida and followed various sports in the media. One of his greatest joys was photographing friends' children at sporting events and sharing those pictures as gifts.

He graduated from Cedar Crest High School in 1970 and later in 1975 from Shippensburg State College, where he was a member of the college Tennis Team and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

He is survived by two brothers, Robert W. Ruppenthal and Arthur L. Ruppenthal, and two sisters, Teenie Nelson and Jane Scine, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie (Fred) Eugene Ruppenthal, and a sister, Patricia Ann Meyer.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 12:30 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17042. A viewing will precede the service from 10:30 to 12:30.
