Jane B. Payne, 73, of Lebanon, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at Cornwall Manor. She was the wife of John J. "Jack" Payne.

Born in New Philadelphia, PA on February 27, 1949, Jane was a daughter of the late Albert and Jane (Yurkonis) Bernitsky. She was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and West Chester University. She was a volunteer teachers aide for Lebanon Catholic School. Jane was employed for many years in the insurance industry and she was a current partner at Bernitsky Brothers Coal Company, along with her cousins. She was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia. Jane loved to travel and looked forward to her yearly trips to San Diego. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved her pets, especially her dog, Dixie. She had many friends and cherished each one

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by two sisters-in-law, Marianne P. Weirich and Sandra P. Meluskey; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, great-great nieces & nephews and numerous cousins in Schylkill County. She was the last of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jane's name may be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
