George A. Loeper, 90, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at home. He was the husband of the late Joan (Henrich) Loeper.
Born in Reading, PA on June 10, 1931, George was a son of the late George and Helen (Kozlowski) Loeper. He was a 1949 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. George was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and earned his teaching degree from Saint Vincent College. He taught at Lebanon Catholic for 13 years and at the Lebanon County Career & Technology Center for 21 years. He was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia, North Lebanon Lions Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Seniors Grief Group, Lebanon Community Library Writer's Group, and the Senior Centers YMCA. He was a Hershey Bears season ticket holder since 1983 and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Steelers Football fan.
George is survived by two sons, Lawrence Loeper, husband of Lynda, and Raymond Loeper; two grandchildren, Andrea Suarez, wife of Jeffrey, and Brycen Loeper, boyfriend of Lexie Durham; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Trokie, Jazalynn Suarez, and Alexander Suarez; two brothers, Conrad Loeper, husband of Rosalie, and David Loeper, companion of Wendy, a sister Theresa Farina, wife of Anthony, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Joseph and Gerard, and infant daughter's Mary and Margaret. As well as a sister Pauline Loeper.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 25th at St. Cecilia's Church, 120 E. Lehman St., Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment with full military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17042 and Friday morning prior to Mass from 10-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flower's donations can be made to Lebanon County Sight Conservation Committee at 205 Narrows Dr Lebanon, PA 17046.
