Gene D. Long, 75, of Grantville, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023 at home. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Hain) Long for 52 years.

Born in Lebanon, PA on December 13, 1947, Gene was a son of the late Steckbeck and Lera (Wampler) Long. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Chapel. Gene was a United States Army veteran and retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot.

In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by two children, Kevin G. Long, husband of Jacqueline, and Andrea Blosser, wife of Benjamin; a grandson, Francis Long; a brother, Jerry Long, husband of Annetta; a sister, Jane Phillippi, wife of Charles; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:00 PM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima, 560 N Mill St, Jonestown, PA 17038. Interment with full military honors will be held at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gene's name may be made to Hospice for All Seasons Foundation, 280 S Hill Dr, Grantville, PA 17028. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
