On October 7th, 2022, Ezequiel Ananías Ortiz went home to the Lord while at Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey, PA, passing peacefully in his mother's embrace. Ezequiel was born unexpectedly on August 28th, 2022 at 24 weeks of gestation, and the compelling circumstances of his journey at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) rallied the support, care and compassion of many, including his care team at the hospital. Ezequiel was 40 days old.

Ezequiel is survived by his parents Samuel N. and Luz E. Ortiz of Lebanon, PA; siblings Abigail I. and Samuel A. Ortiz, and many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Ernesto N. Ortiz (2015) and his unborn sister Selah Ortiz (2020).

A visitation will be held in Thompson Funeral Home, 126 South 9th Street, Lebanon, PA from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. The funeral procession will then travel to Holy Cross Cemetery, 1810 Jay Street, Lebanon, PA for a graveside service, Pastor Michael L. Zechman presiding, followed by interment. Private reception afterward.
