Elmer "Barry" Kurtz, 75, of Reading, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Reading Hospital. He is survived by his long time companion, Mary Ann Borzellino.

Born in Reading, PA on February 8, 1946, Barry was a son of the late Elmer and Verna (Johnson) Kurtz. He worked for over 34 years for the former Northeastern Distributing Company in Wyomissing. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and he was a member of many social clubs in Berks County.

In addition to his long time companion, Mary Ann, Barry is survived by five children, Denise Maddux, Christine Kurtz, Barry Lee Kurtz, Melissa Stacey, and Renee' Chistman; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Kurtz and Leslie William Kurtz.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Yocum Cemetery in Cumru Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elmer's name may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
