Edward R. Walter, 73, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, unexpectedly at the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital.

Born on November 12, 1950, in White Plains, New York, Ed was the son of Catherine and Herman Walter.  Ed and Diane married on August 4, 1973, in Lake Placid, New York. They moved to Pennsylvania to follow Ed's career as Optician. He traveled around the country as a District Manager earning many awards.  He had an exceptional work ethic, was kind and a sense of humor no one could duplicate.

He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, collecting antiques and auctions.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of 51 years. His brother Frank Walter (Barbara Walter); his daughters Denise Ott (Nathan Ott) and Tina Willet; his grandchildren Katherine, Evan, Becky and Natalie; his great grandson Angel and his nieces Kathy and Carol and his nephew Jim.  He was proceeded in death by his father Herman, his mother Catherine and his son-in-law John Willet.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon, PA 17042. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 (heart.org).
