Dear Mom,

You were so proud that you made it to age 95!! Quite an accomplishment! I am glad that I was there to the end with you.

You were quite a spunky, vibrant person; always had many friends or made some the day you met them.  Your artistry of people, scenery, and animals were well done and quite colorful. I watched you do puzzles and word-searches in your 90's. My mom worked as a reporter at the Lebanon Daily News in her younger years. That is why she became the "official" speechmaker at events such as birthdays and weddings and spoke eloquently.  She worked at Winthrop for over 25 years in the Lab, and Keller Insurance Company up until the age of 72.

Doris was preceded in death by Joseph M. Mikoni, husband for 33 years and Robert Bickel Sr. for 39 years as well as son John J. Mikoni and daughter Marie T. Mikoni, and is survived by Joni Laicha, wife of Joseph P. Laicha. She has 4 grandchildren.

I want to extend special thanks to Juniper Village staff and administrator for their care of her over the past few years.

Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery alongside of Joseph M. Mikoni. A private service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family.

She will be missed by all.
