Obituary

Donna Garrett Seiple, 84, of Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Lebanon Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Lebanon, Pa on August 7, 1940, Donna was the daughter of the late Emma (Sattazhan) and Herman Garrett. She was the wife of William H. Seiple, to whom she was married for 54 years, before his passing in 2016.

Donna was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School. Her first job was at Everite Mills as a seamstress and ironing clothing. A few years later, she began working at the Hershey Chocolate Factory in the Kiss line and met her husband, Bill, who worked as a mechanic for Hershey. While raising her children, she also worked at the yarn factory in Womelsdorf and the Hershey Laundry. Later in life, she cared for her grandchildren full-time.

She loved reading novels, knitting, crossword puzzles, listening to music, watching movies and Penn State football games, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially to New York City to see on and off-Broadway shows; her favorite trip was visiting family in Italy for two weeks. She cherished being a sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother and always made sure her family knew how much she loved them.

Donna is survived by three children – Jeffrey Seiple, husband of Linda, Lisa Strohm, wife of Tom, and Greg Seiple, husband of Laurie, and eight grandchildren – Jackie and Kristen Strohm, Conner and Brooklynn Seiple, Mike Massar, Amanda Taylor, Mallory Rudy, and Lauren Seiple. She is also survived by her brother, Luther Garrett, husband of Elaine, her sister Mary Ann Garrett, four great-grandchildren Lillian Cooper, Owen and Ellie Rudy, Kinsley Massar, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held privately. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at our online guest book at www.thompsonfuneralhomelebanon.com
