Obituary

David A. Rakow Sr., 77, of Lebanon passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Stoneridge Poplar Run, Myerstown. He was the husband of the late Mary Agnes (Scanlin) Rakow, his grade school sweetheart.

Born in Lebanon, PA on February 5, 1948, David was a son of the late William W. and Isabelle M. (Seubert) Rakow. He was a graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School, where he was football captain and a member of the undefeated 1966 football team. He developed friendships with classmates that lasted his lifetime. David was an active member of the local Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Church.  He was the systems manager for PA Continuing Education Legal Board. He enjoyed working on cars, motor sports racing, playing poker, and spending time with family. David and his wife loved opening up their home to family and friends on Friday's to recite the rosary and enjoy their fellowship.

Surviving are two sons, Daniel W. Rakow, husband of Kara and David A. Rakow Jr., fiancé of Janelle; five grandchildren: Madison, Adam, Andrew, Owen and Ella; two brothers, William and Robert Rakow; one sister, MaryAnn Rakow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Rakow.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church 2 N. 8th St. Lebanon, 17046. A viewing will be held prior to mass from 10-11. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or Our Lady of the Cross School.
