Obituary

David C. Lazorcik, 73, of Lebanon, passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at home, after a short but aggressive battle with cancer.  He was the husband of Joanne R. (Reisch) Lazorcik.

Born in Lebanon, PA on March 7, 1951, Dave was the son of Cyril and Teresa (Miller) Lazorcik.  He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

After a three-year stint in the NYC Army Band, Dave studied music and received his BA in music performance from LVC.  He also attended the renowned drum school, Drummers Collective in NY.  He studied with Joe Morello and Gary Chester. He has performed with a number of nationally acclaimed artists as well as playing throughout Central PA. He continued to study and learn his entire life.

His dedication to the art of drumming inspired many students. He was respected as a fine musician by all that he worked with, but remained humble about his abilities.  He spent considerable time going to hear everyone and supporting everyone.  He was more than proud of son, Pete for his musical accomplishments, but refused to accept any credit for it.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by son, Peter Lazorcik, a brother, Cyril Lazorcik (Karen), two sisters, Jeanne Fields, and Frances Hadley (Bruce).
