Obituary

D'Angelo Mekhi Greene, 3, of Lebanon, passed away tragically on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Camden, New Jersey. Born on August 6, 2019, "Dlo", as he was affectionately called, was the son of Rebecca D. Garcia and Darnell M. Greene.

Dlo was a sociable kid with an uncanny ability to strike up conversations with anyone. His contagious smile and warm hugs quickly turned strangers into friends.

From a young age, Dlo loved anything with wheels and engines. Whether it was playing with toy cars or watching mechanics work on real ones, his eyes would light up.

He cherished his ice cream outings with Mimi, loved pizza and the color red and was, hands down, Lighting McQueen's biggest fan.

His love for his baby brother was unparalleled. From the day Kyro was born, Dlo took the role of "big brother" very seriously, with fierce protection and unwavering love.

He and his cousin, Sekani, also shared a bond that defied their young age. Born just three weeks apart, the two were more than cousins. They were inseparable friends with an unbreakable bond who navigated their world the only way they knew how - side by side, day in and day out.

Though Dlo's time here was far too short, his boundless love for life has taught us all to appreciate the little things and helped to remind us to hold the people we love a little tighter.

In addition to his parents, Dlo is survived by two brothers, Kyro Greene and Marvin Jesus Ferrer, Jr.; maternal grandparents – Omy and Gary Garcia; maternal great grandparents – Evelyn Guiterrez and Raymond Garcia; paternal grandparents – Alfred Greene and Shanae Shelley; paternal great grandfather, Iverson Shelley; Step great grandfather Onix Velazquez; four aunts – Naomi, Erika, Emily, Veronica, and his uncle, Christian; and countless cousins and friends. DLo was preceded in death by his maternal great great grandparents - Jesus M. Ferrer and Sylvia Garcia and his paternal great grandmother, Joan Gentry.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his teachers at IU13 Lebanon County. Miss Alicia and Miss Betsaida played an instrumental role in nurturing Dlo's curiosity by providing a safe space for him to explore and grow.
