Obituary

Claire L. Heron (nee Morris) 89, of Lebanon, Pa. passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024.  She was born on August 19, 1935 in Philadelphia, the youngest of two children to the late Roland M. and Agnes G. Morris (nee Toner).  She grew up in Drexel HIll where she attended Upper Darby High School and was a member of the rifle and archery teams as well as the yearbook committee where she contributed artwork for her yearbook.

Claire met the love of her life in 1955, the late John L. Heron, Jr. (Jack) and enjoyed 51 years of marriage together.  They welcomed five children (Cathleen, Claire (Meg), John III, Christine and Keith).

Claire devoted her life to her husband and her children.  They spent most of their life in Glen Riddle, PA before retiring to Florida.  Throughout this time, they always vacationed in Bethany Beach, DE.  Bethany was her favorite beach where Jack and Claire would spend many summers listening to the bands on the boardwalk, exploring the nearby towns, camping at Tuckahoe Acres, and boating along the Indian River.  Claire was an avid swimmer and always looked forward to time at the beach or a poolside dip.

While raising five children, she happily took on side work as a seamstress making custom clothes or altering clothing, .  She was an avid quilter, knitter and overall had a knack for sewing anything from clothing to drapes to upholstery.  She also enjoyed country line dancing, painting and drawing.   Her homemade popcorn balls and creative handmade costumes were always a hit at Halloween.  Claire especially enjoyed the Holidays.  She loved decorating the house, preparing large home cooked meals and having the family visit to enjoy a gift exchange and catch up with everyone.

As her children grew older, Claire worked as a Secretary for several businesses such as  Dupont, Brown and Williams, Rollins Environmental and Lima Methodist Church.  While living in Pennsylvania, Claire was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for several years.

Claire is predeceased by her parents (Roland M and Agnes G. Morris), her brother (James T. Morris), her husband (John L. Heron, Jr. "Jack"), two sons (John Heron and Keith Heron) and grandson (Joseph R. Smith).

Claire is survived by three daughters (Cathleen, Meg, and Christine) as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren:  Christine L. Falato-Ozaluk and sons (Nathan, Paul and Maxsym), Megan J. Bellinger and children (Lily and Oliver), Ryan Marques, Kelly Marques and Montana Heron, and numerous nieces and nephews.
