Christine A. Smith, 71, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 surrounded by her children and family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was the wife of the late Steven H. Smith.

Christine was born on May 23, 1951 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Joseph and Frances (Galosi) Carrara. Christine earned her bachelor's and master's degree from Penn State University and worked as a special education teacher in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District for many years. She was a loving Nannie to her three grandchildren and enjoyed treating them to family breakfasts, going on shopping sprees and sleepovers.

Her long-time friendships with her ladies group brought her tremendous joy and lots of laughs on beach trips, deck nights, holiday parties and so much more. She was a dedicated Penn State Football fan and loved co-hosting the Smith and Zelinske "MEET US AT #THEFENCE" tailgate for every home game.

Christine is survived by her three children, Marta Ferek, wife of Brian, Leann Moore, wife of Scott, and Jared Smith, husband of Michelle Reyes; three grandchildren, Corrie, Lincoln, and Stevie; a brother, Anthony Carrara; three sisters, Laurie Horn, Kelly Howatt, and Caraline Engle; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 11th at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Christine may be made to the Cornwall-Lebanon School District's Falcon Foundation.
