Charles A. Shutter, 84, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024. He was the husband of Jeane (Brewer) Shutter.

Born in Lebanon, PA on February 19, 1940, Charles was a son of the late Edgar and Mary (Gross) Shutter. He was a member of Zion Goshert's United Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing softball for South Lebanon and later umpiring games.  He also enjoyed golfing, mowing grass and landscaping.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two children, Janine Burrows (Mike) and Charles Shutter Jr. (Rebekah); four grandchildren: Michael Burrows (Erin), Katelyn Blatt (Brandon), Charles Shutter III and Brooke Shutter; a brother, Paul Shutter; and five sisters: Barbara Donmoyer, Donna Rhen, Deb Reitz, Diane Eisenhour, and Betty Lou Hughes.

He was preceded in death by siblings:  Edgar Shutter, Anna Hirschbock, Joe Shutter, Mary Hartman, John Shutter, Cass Donmoyer, Frank Shutter, and Susan Hains.

A viewing will be held from 9:30-11:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Zion Gosherts Church, 1588 Mt Zion Rd, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' name may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N Ramona Rd, Myerstown, PA 17067.
