Charles R. Betz, Jr., 89, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Cedar Haven Nursing Home. He was the husband of Evelyn S. (Marko) Betz.

Born in Lebanon, PA on August 27, 1935, Charles was a son of the late Charles and Georgia (Cornell) Betz. He was a United States Army veteran and member of St. Mary's Church. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading and western television shows.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by three children, Sharon M. Roth, wife of Richard Jr., Charles R. Betz III, and Gary M. Betz; four grandchildren, Joshua Richard Roth, Ryan Derrick Roth, Brandon Michael Betz, and Charles Richard Betz, IV; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Eve Hansell. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Snavely and Charlotte Dill.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 126 S 9th St, Lebanon, PA 17042. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held prior to the service from 10-11 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' name can be made to The American Kidney Foundation at kidney.org.
