Obituary

Catherine M. (Wolf) Lazorcik, 100, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. Catherine was the wife of the late James L. Paugh and the late George S. Lazorcik. Born in Lebanon on April 2, 1923, Catherine was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Magdalena (Wahl) Wolf.

A lifelong resident of Lebanon, Catherine was a 1940 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. She was a faithful member and long-time daily communicant of St. Mary's Church. In addition to caring for her nine children, Catherine loved to sew, knit, and crochet. Catherine was also a baker, especially dedicated to making her family's German cookies at Christmas. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy every night, golf on the weekends, and the highlight of her week was the Saturday night Polkas!

Catherine loved spending time at home, but also loved to travel especially to the Jersey shore, and to visit her children in Arizona and San Diego. She kept her mind sharp by solving puzzles (crossword, jigsaw, word search) and was an avid reader. Catherine was the happiest being at home surrounded by her children and extended family.

She is survived by her children Patricia Downs (Roger), Jane Nields (Edward "Chip"), Joseph Paugh (Claire), Kathleen Wells (James), George Lazorcik (Patty), Elizabeth Lazorcik, Gregory Lazorcik (Donna Costanzi), and Mary Hossler (Chris).  Catherine is also survived by six grandsons, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to James and George, Catherine was preceded in death by her son James Paugh, daughter-in-law SallyAnn Paugh, grandson Milan Lazorcik, sister Mary Birli and brother-in-law John Birli, brother Joseph Wolf and sister-in-law Margaret Wolf.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 5th from 10-11am at St. Mary's Church, 2 North 8th Street in Lebanon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11am. Interment will follow at St Gertrude's Cemetery.
