Carl William Hofmann, Sr, 64, of Palmyra passed away January 17, 2026, in the Penn State Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Diane E. Hofmann.

Carl was born on February 25, 1961, in Baltimore City, MD to Carl Arthur Hofmann and was raised by his grandparents whom he loved very much.  After high school Carl entered the Army and served his country honorably for 12 years.  After he left the Army, he was a police officer for the Baltimore City Police Department, leaving the force after being wounded in the line of duty.  He then worked in the maintenance department for an apartment complex in Mt. Joy and worked for several private security companies until he retired in 2024.  Carl was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan and was a complete World War II buff. He enjoyed going to concerts, plays and live entertainment.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters Alison, wife of Jeremy Long and Samantha, wife of Christopher Wolfe.  He has 3 grandchildren, Aurora, Jason and Wyatt.   He is also survived by his brother Michael Hofmann, his wife Suzan and their son Michael, whom Carl fondly called Little Michael.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 1 to 4 pm at the American Legion Post 910 - Lickdale, 75 Fisher Ave, Jonestown, PA 17038.
