Obituary

Anna Mae Baeshore, 90, passed away Friday, January 14th, from complications of old age which, as the sign on her front porch reminded visitors, "is not for wimps."

Anna Mae was born May 14, 1931, in Lancaster to Preston and Ella Karr. She had a long career with Lebanon School District and was active in local politics. She was known for her amazingly soft sugar cookies and perfectly-rolled sand tarts. When she wasn't baking, Anna Mae enjoyed gardening, watching the birds outside her kitchen window, reading, attending church, spending time with her family, and cheering for the Steelers.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, a sister (Ruth Ortlieb), a son (Rick Baeshore), and a granddaughter (Bobbi Jo Ream). She is survived by her brother, Preston Karr of Lancaster, children Charles "Chap" Heim and Dawn Ream of Lebanon, granddaughters Shannon Brenner of Pittsburgh and Christy Brandt of Lebanon, and several great- and great-great-grandchildren who were lucky to have known her.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 21st at 9:00 a.m at Bethany United Methodist Church. Masks appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 North Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067.
