Ada I.
Ortiz
Apr 11, 1951 — Jul 2, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Ada Isabel Rolon Ortiz, age 73, who sadly left our world on July 2, 2024. She was a pillar of strength, resilience, and love in our lives, and her memory will forever be cherished. Her gentle spirit and unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
Born April 11, 1951 in Aibonito Puerto Rico. She was the 11th of 12 children, of both Fernando Rolon Reyes and Amelia Ortiz Nazario.
In her lifetime, Ada relocated a few times, but eventually found a place to call home in Reading Pennsylvania. She took pride in cooking for others. Not only did she take pride in her cooking, she also took pride in cleaning and was very meticulous about how she wanted things done. She enjoyed listening to music, shopping, going for car rides, watching soap operas, news, and most importantly taking care of her grandchildren. She always watched the PA lottery even if she didn't play, lol. Mom was truly an Elvis fan and enjoyed collecting elephant figurines. She worked numerous thankless jobs to make sure her children never went without. She was a hard worker and took so much pride in everything she did. She was a strong woman. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband Elvin A. Ortiz, daughters, Maria Mercado, Josefina Rolon, Alicia Ortiz, Rosalina Ortiz, and only son Elvin Ortiz. Also, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandkids and preceded grandkids 3
